The term “Organisation Development (OD)” has been interpreted by many to be human resource management and human resource development. While OD encompasses these aspects, it is so much more than that. Cummings & Worley (1997) defined OD as “a systemwide application of behavioural science knowledge to the planned development and reinforcement of organisational strategies, structure, and processes for improving organisational effectiveness.”
The general preconceived notion about OD is that it deals with a series of complicated organisational issues that are beyond grasp. OD Made Simple is adapted from the book The Language of OD, and brings you the A-Z of OD with each letter representing a selection of concepts, ideas or models that are essential to the OD world.
